Science: its Power and Limitations Rolf Sattler. I felt compelled to write this article for two reasons: 1. Having carried out research in science (plant morphology) and having taught science and philosophy of science for nearly forty years, I wanted to communicate my (limited) insights into the power and limitations of science. These limitations are based on the fact that a hypothesis must be testable and falsifiable and that experiments and observations be repeatable. This places certain topics beyond the reach of the scientific method. Science cannot prove or refute the existence of God or any other supernatural entity.

Science is meant to give us a better understanding of the mysteries of the the natural world, by refuting previous hypotheses, and the existence of supernatural beings lies outside of science all together. Another limitation of the scientific method is when it comes making judgements about whether certain scientific phenomenons are "good" or "bad". The Limitations of Scientific Truth: Why Science Can't Answer Life's Ultimate Questions In his book The Creator and the Cosmos (), Hugh Ross identifies no less than twenty-six physical parameters that must fall within extremely limited ranges in order for life to exist anywhere within the universe. He identifies another thirty-three.

Nor is Limitations an attempt to reconcile science and religion. Such attempts, as Brush explains, have, in fact, failed. Rather, Limitations is more like an invitation: "Come now. Let us reason together." The book lauds the accomplishments of science, but in logical, organized, and well-documented arguments, educates the reader about the six. According to many a prophet in the temple of science, biology has no permanent limitations. Instead, it faces an endless frontier eagerly, gladly, confidently. The answer depends in part on what we mean by biology. What is biology? Is it primarily.
